The sketch depicts the Midtown Tavern & Grill in Halifax. It is a beloved family-style pub and eatery and is located across from the Prince George Hotel in Halifax.

The history of the Midtown Tavern in Halifax dates back to 1949, and the old building itself dates from the 1860s. The original Midtown Tavern was torn down to make way for new development, and the tavern moved to its current location at 1744 Grafton Street. In 2009, the Midtown Tavern joined forces with a nightclub and watering hole, Boomer's Lounge, and became the Midtown Tavern & Grill. The tavern is known for its role as a family-style pub and eatery, offering a welcoming atmosphere and a mix of live music, DJ, and dancefloor events. It is a beloved establishment that has been part of Halifax's social fabric for many years, catering to a diverse clientele and contributing to the city's social life. 

The Tavern is a popular meeting place due to its proximity to the Scotia Bank Centre. It's proximity makes it a favored spot for people to gather before or after events at the Centre that is right in the heart of downtown Halifax.

PAPER & DESCRIPTION

  • Print and cards are of my original handmade marker sketches.
  • For my original work I use Copic, and Winsor and Newton alcohol-based ink markers.
  • Prints are signed by the artist.

PACKAGING
Prints: All prints are packaged with love, sealed in an eco-friendly, compostable cello sleeve made of plant fibers with thick backing cardboard and mailed in a non-bend envelope to ensure the print remains in perfect condition.
Greeting Cards: All cards are blank inside and a kraft envelope is included. All greeting cards are packed in a clear cellophane bag. 

ECO EFFORTS

  • It's very important to us to keep being as eco-friendly as possible.
  • PLA compostable sleeves and recycled postcards.
  • We welcome and encourage any suggestions you might have.
