Karen Gray, a Haliburton School of the Arts ceramics graduate, turned her love of pottery into a full-time career beginning in 2009 in Maynooth before relocating to downtown Huntsville in 2016. She discovered her signature sgraffito technique—carving layered color into unfired clay—while recovering from an injury, creating distinctive mugs, bowls, platters, and wall art inspired by Muskoka’s natural beauty. Operating The Potter’s Studio & Gallery from her home studio, Karen merges artistic storytelling with functionality, hosting visitors who can watch her at work and browse a curated collection of local painting, woodwork, and sculpture alongside her original pieces.
