Artisan Trading Post, founded in 2018 by Aimee Sifft-Hernandez, began as a booth at the Port Carling Farmers' Market, offering handcrafted products from Ecuadorian artisans. Aimee, originally from Muskoka, now resides in Ecuador with her family, supporting local artisans impacted by the pandemic. In 2022, the business expanded with a year-round store in Port Carling, managed by Jon Juane. The store features a curated selection of handcrafted goods from both Ecuador and local Muskoka artisans, including home decor, accessories, and gifts. Committed to fair trade principles, Artisan Trading Post ensures artisans are fairly compensated and treated with respect. A portion of proceeds supports global and local charitable initiatives, such as mental health programs in Muskoka and youth art programs in Ecuador.
